Just my opinion but, for the last 30 or more years, new EMD diesel units have Nylatron (sp) self lubricating liners in the bolster (both the bottom and the circumference of the bolster bowl). Thus, "grease" is no longer used.
Don't know where you get/got your information, but in my opinion, it doesn't sound logical.
