The special was on the move Sunday. UP ran it south to Fancher St. in Spokane where it stopped on the crossing and let off ten passengers who got on a charter bus which headed off to somewhere. Then they backed the train to Trentwood where they backed into the siding, cut off the power and ran around to the north end of the train. Then they moved a little bit to allow access for a truck with fuel and water.
I guess that since the power is now on the north end of the train they are going to return to CDA Jct.
At some point in the last few days they moved the car Lake Bluff from where it was in the train to between the power and the power car. I noticed it is not connected to the HEP so it is now deadheading for whatever reason.
Also, I didn't realize that the theater / inspection car Idaho has a horn on it for back up moves. The conductor rode the Idaho for the back up move sitting inside looking out the big window. Cushy! Much better than hanging off a rusty old hopper.
