Construction doesn't look particularly heavy-duty in the picture, so I suspect that not a whole lot of money was spent on it - so little was lost on shutdown. And yes, those do look like very erodible cliffs.

Do like the naming of the cars! (See the erha link ... how many of us are old enough to remember the reference?)

Inclines of that type seem to be nearly gone. Where are there others? The only one I know of that's still running is at the Shadowbrook restaurant in Capitola CA (single car, not counterbalanced).
