Not clearly stated in the copied story is that the bridge in question, U.S. Hwy 2 at Dover, Idaho, (few miles west of Sandpoint)is standing over trackage that's used by UP and POVA trains. That bridge is indeed in sad shape. If not dealt with soon, it would not be surprising if that sucker wound up blocking UP's important Canadian traffic at the very least, or killing motorists and/or railroaders at the worst.
