Amtrak 5 arrived at the terminating station Emeryville, Ca. 13hrs & 46 minutes late. Cause a derailment near Denver. So it rerouted through Cheyenne on the old overland route. My feelings go out the onboard staff who keep on working. They exemplify a history of customer first. I gather #5 caries a Chicago based crew. So I guess these folks get the minimum rest at the hotel before the return trip as train 6. I wonder if young people would pick on-board service as a career? (I gather engineer and conductors rotate off the train every 12 hours-the law). Thank you each of you! Cal-P
