So long as it doesn't have to move over a Class I mainline it can be moved just fine so long as it is blessed by the carriers involved and the brasses are properly prepared. (Remove the pads, remove the wedges and brasses and thoroughly clean the journals of any grit and foreign matter. Repack with new pads and oil the hell out of everything!
