The RRB benefits have run out. They strongly suggested that I apply for disability so I wasted my time doing that. I currently gross about $1,200 a month and the RRB says that's too much to qualify for disability even though disability would be about $1,900 a month. They actually suggested that I ask for a 3 month leave of absence from my job to make my financial situation look "better" for the apllication review process. When I asked how we should make our house payments for those three months my case manager was at a loss for words.

It's just been a nightmsre. When I informed the carrier that I was taking a part-time job they said they might view that as my cutting ties with them. I told them to view it as we can't pay our bills. Who in their right mind would choose to make less money in a week than I did in a day on the railroad??? My wife's insurance through the carrier expires at the end of the year and we don't how we can afford a different policy. Our savings are gone. The decent employmentioned opportunities where we live are just about nil and due to the lingering effects of the injury employers are wary of hiring me. Oh, and as soon as I was injured the carrier has turned its back on.me even though they all but admitted culpability.

In a nutshell that's why I suggested the one guy think before making snide comments about people working at McDonald's. Thankfully I the good fortune to not work them sine they pay even less than my current whopping $11.00 an hour.
