Have you considered doing something like this for the moon? I was out one day shooting and saw the moon rising over Mt Rainier. I thought it was very cool, so I went out again the next evening to try and get a better shot.

I realized the moon doesn't rise at the same time each day, so I had that covered, I looked up when it would rise. What I didn't realize is that the moon also is not at the same position when it rises, or at least it sure looked that way. Of course it still rose in the east, but it seemed to be a lot further north in relation to where it was the day before. Was that an optical illusion due to my being in a slightly differnt location, or does it really change it's position in the sky relative to the earth each day when it rises?
