Two strong long-term factors here: economies trend to cyclic with eventual times of overproduction; and really big companies, i.e. quasi monopolies like Amazon, will push automation and robotics ever more militantly, particularly in the face of strikes and antitrust government pressure.

Your welfare state, even the nordic type, will have to be financed by taxes on the ever poorer 99%. They will revolt at some point. (See Gilets Jaunes) The rich know how to avoid taxation because they know the money will be wasted. (See Carlos Ghosn)
