Yeah, Jelmoli… It still exists, but (as with any department store) things have seriously changed. It changed hands several times over the years, and the iconic J logo got several overhauls…

And the times when a hotel/restaurant owner from the Engadin goes to Jelmoli to shop for supplies is definitely over (well, most likely not in reality, but in a movie from 1962/63 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SageTTrrqAA). Actually, the movie starts with two street scenes on the Bahnhofstrasse just before Christmas. And, it shows … the Märlitram in its first incarnation (and continue watching the Department Store Song … you don't need to understand much German to enjoy it). Well, I guess Jelmoli sponsered the movie.

There is no longer an all-you-can eat breakfast buffet (which you may find nearby), but they still have a restaurant.
