Tacoma Rail baretable southbound on the BNSF?

This morning I was surprised to see some Tacoma Rail power come off the drawbridge lead into the Tacoma yard. It was both the SD70ACE units plus one of the 710 eco rebuilds. I thought maybe it was just a transfer, but the power choice was odd. Sure enough, it had a FRED and they departed south on the BNSF main from Tacoma. I have to assume they are going down to Nisqually to shove them down the Roy line? Anyone know? There was no power on the rear, so the shove up the hill would be awkward. Left me confused.
