UP 1982 (MoPac) in Northern Oregon

Stumbled into UP 1982 just after noon today tied up at Perry (just west of LaGrande) as part of a mid-train DPU on a soda ash train.

Typical pattern is to pull the mid-train DPU sets out of grain and soda ash trains at Hinkle. Often two or three sets are combined and run light back to Nampa for the next group of unit trains.

So 1982 might repeat another Nampa turn as a mid-train DPU, head for the shop, or be reassigned to another train north to Eastport, west to Portland and beyond or back to the east.
