For those who don't read French:
India: a train that cures the sick
A train, transformed into a traveling hospital, has traveled the roads of India since 1991. It provides free care for the poor.

A train that changes lives. Dozens of Indians are preparing to have cataract surgery, an eye disease. Patients who can not afford surgery in a clinic. The Lifeline Express, the world's first hospital train, is an unexpected opportunity for them. The treatments are completely free and open to everyone. Since 1991, he has been traveling from station to station in the poorest and most remote areas of India. Once on board, patients discover a state-of-the-art, ultra-equipped hospital. Doctors and nurses are volunteers from both sides of India.

A magic train

Several operations take place in the same room, to maintain the pace. "Here, we do between 80 and 100 operations a day, each one taking between three and five minutes if we want to treat everyone," says one of the doctors. "The impact on patients is enormous, lives are changing overnight, and that's why the Lifeline Express is also called 'the magic train'," says one volunteer. In thirty years, the Lifeline Express claims to have led 130,000 operations.
