Pine Bluff is not now a "major" shop, and hasn't been
for several decades. It has been a running repair shop
similar to the type of work that gets done at Hinkle
Shop. They don't do overhauls, rebuilds, truck changes,
engine/MG changes, wreck repairs, paint, Tri-annual
inspections or other "major" work. They can (or could)
change a wheelset or a power assembly, but that is
about as complicated as it got.
It will probably revert to a service-track type of
operation that can do fuel, lube oil, daily inspections,
change a brake shoe, etc. Maybe 3 or 4 people on each
shift.
