Part of it belongs to the Park Service and some of
that is actually designated and maintained as an NPS
walking trail or trails. Especially east of Promontory
for a couple of miles.

There is a guidebook for the trails available at the
visitor center at the Gold Spike Site.

Much of the rest of it is on private ranch property (not
UP owned) and is neither available nor suitable for walking.
