I only worked the job twice in 69. After working the pool from Wat. Jct to SJ, they called us for the Perm. (16 hours back then). Well, we took the mtys up the hill and left them. Then we went to a hook on the first section of the loads to go down. After a bit (old heads didn't like a fireman, it took money away from the hoghead) So we never got the plan of what was going to happen. Some of the wreckage was still down at the jct. from the last run away.

Well, once you doubled the lead cut over to the rest of the train' you were committed. An air test and away you went.

I was still wet behind the ears so didn't know about setting pops, etc. Thanks to green signals and an "OK" at SJ, we went right up to the yard.

It was a wonder there were not more jackpots on that line.
