Good point and one that brings up a real problem for BART-MTC-SPUR. If BART ridership is declining and Caltrain's increasing(perhaps substantially with electrification)the case for a second bechtel gauge tube is undermined and the argument for one for Caltrain-Amtrak buttressed.

Which means MTC will have to see to it tax monies are quickly diverted to BART. I am surprised that they did not try to get funds from Newsom in the current budget with the windfall. Look for that forthcoming.

Muni ought to get cheeky and ask for some of that VW diesel cheating settlement money. For Geary and expansion of Presidio Yard.
