I was told by a friend that he was riding the Zephyr once, and the WP was blocked east of Gerlach by a derailment.

Passengers for Gerlach were given the opportunity to ride the caboose on the wreck train which was headed for the wreck, and the Zephyr was taken down the Reno Branch to the SP.
