Sadly enough they could have been going to the scrapyard. A whole bunch of them ended up at Levin Metals in Richmond, CA where the PLA was able to get parts off of them. Others went to Dobbas in Antelope, CA where they were resold. On the bright side an amazing number of ex-SP cabooses survive.
