UP management will always (well, never say "always" but almost always) have a dismal in the consist. It doesn't meant its pushing, sometimes it will be pulling, and other times just coasting, but it's there to keep water consumption manageable, back up power if needed (read: insurance), and anything else that might be needed (like HEP for the cars).
Just get over it and be happy to see a Dinosaur roaming the rails within our lifetimes.
