I’ve setup a link on my website to Keith Blount’s Railroads of Montana Map.
Keith is now retired, but when he worked for the State of Montana, he compiled a railroad map of the active and abandoned rail lines found in Montana.
This is perhaps the most detailed and comprehensive map showing ALL the rail lines in Montana from the 1890s up to today. It’s a large file [15 megs] and 44”x34” in size – the text and map lines are crystal clear – though you may have to wait to have all the features load up. I suppose you could to have a professional print shop print the map to get the true size of the file. Nevertheless, just zooming in and out in the pdf file is enough to follow any railroad in Montana.
