" All EwePee Intermodal Terminals in Chicago have 3 day EMBARGOS for outbound shipments due to a shortage of rail equipment. " - so says another article in the same link.
Is that the truckers' fault too ???
EwePee might want to reconsider their 24 hour pickup deadline, lest they end up with NO Truckers, which could happen & would be very bad in an area known for lots of Rubber - Tired Interchange.
Earlier this year, BNSF's Seattle International Gateway found out the HARD WAY that paying dray haulers $44 Dollars per trip -- Just Ain't Getting It anymore. With the Ports of Seattle & Tacoma ( aka Northwest Seaport Alliance ) finally instituting their clean truck requirement ( nothing older than 2013, when DEF & SCF became a requirement ) as of Jan. 1, 2019, a HUGE number of Gyppo dray haulers in Puget Sound discovered they could no longer buy a used tractor for Five Grand and have it be legal smog - wise. These older trucks were banned from all NW Seaport Alliance Container Terminals, which meant BNSF had to raise their rates for dray hauls from BNSF SIG to Terminals 18 ( the biggest, busiest, WORST one ), as well as T-30 & T-46.
Boo Hoo... At least some of the oldest, POS death - trap trucks have been parked thank god...
