It would be interesting to see if there is any dual gauge in India: standard and 5'6". It is really telling they chose standard gauge for Delhi and Mumbai metros. BART is truly a white elephant. BART loves to spend money so why not just re-gauge? Unless you think some new Jetsons tech is coming along to totally supplant BART in the not so distant future?

But probably BART will be around for another century. MTC and the Party can always find money for any BART scheme.
