BNSF has had a fire car tanker sitting in the East Auburn siding for the last month or so. Which leads to the question: Are the fire tank cars filled at all from water points where they can fill in a matter of minutes? Or, are they always filled by a pump? Filling by pump a string of five or so cars could take many hours. I know that many trestle sprinklers are filled by gravity feeds from the creek or river they cross over, but to fill a string of tank cars presents many issues when filling at 200 gallons a minute or less.
