What you saw is the LRV65, the Redding Turn, or at least what is left of it. UP now has through frieghts setting out cars in Redding, and picking up from Anderson. The Redding Turn now runs with one geep, and works from Redding South to somewhere north of Binney Jct. And back up to Redding. They no longer move cars for the Redding yard, but still do the online work between Binney Jct and Anita.
