Good reading T-1 story from Classic Trains

I cannot vouch for any technical inaccuracies in this reminiscence but it sure shows the engineer in this case did know to handle a T-1 with kid gloves and plenty sand to avoid the notorious slipping. But the cinders issue? Maybe the T-1 trust should consider oil fired, not historical and requiring some re-engineering maybe but it is a thought.

Comments are interesting and a range of photos.
