As a native lifelong resident of San Jose I can tell you that VTA has been a disaster since it first was on the drawing boards—-they blissfully planned to cross the SP tracks at grade on N First St and when SP heard of it, they said “no, hell no, and no way!” and VTA then had to literally go back to the drawing board and design an underpass which of course delayed the project and sent it well over budget. It has been downhill from there. Just watch all the empty trains going from nowhere and crawling thru downtown San Jose.Pathetic.
