It's not *supposed* to happen in California, with the "independent" commission to do the work. With my Congressional district being a strip extending from southeast of Sacramento to the Oregon border, essentially East Jefferson and as safe a Republican district as could possibly be drawn, I wonder. But then, the commission does have constraints in terms of the number of districts that it can draw, and there will be cases where the boundaries will be strange just to pick up enough people, who in this case happen to be mostly Republican (being foothills, mountains, and back country except for a few suburbs), so it *might* not be a deliberately partisan gerrymander. Time for some coffee...
