The International Port of Coos Bay has filed with the Surface Transportation Board an updated price estimate.
The update is for the scrap value of the steel on the 111 mile rail line.
The Port has estimated the value of the steel to be between 7.8 to 8.6 million dollars. Combined with the set STB value of the land at $6,771,878.00, the Port’s estimated total could be between 14.5 to 15.3 million dollars to purchase the line.
CORP now has just a few days to accept or reject the Port’s scrap rail value estimate.
CORP has placed the total value on the Coos Bay Branch line at a little more that $26 million dollars.
Next week it will be up to the STB to look at all of the estimates and come up with the final purchase price.
