The point about saving a F59PH rather than a F40 is a good one. They're considerably rarer. Even the F59PHI is much more common, being used in several Amtrak operations as well as commuters like Metrolink.

As for 800 - until its recent decommissioning, was it fully operational? If so, it could be made a cabbage with space for bicycles (I think I saw a reference recently to somebody doing that). Unless Metrolink has enough Rotem cab cars for all of its trains. Do they still run some with locomotives at each end? If so, a cabbage would be useful.
