Preliminary information suggests that there were numerous power strips and devices being simultaneously charged. That may have caused an overload and fire. Once Lithium batteries catch fire, they are difficult to extinguish since they burn very hot and fast.

The Coast Guard is merely pointing this out and advising people to be cautious. prudent.
