The inevitable has happened, only about 5 years too late. I can't believe anyone funded this guy, yet this "Big Shoulders" capital gave our favorite strummer money less than a year ago. Maybe they were those evil guys you hear about on daytime TV-- "Do you have more debt than you can pay? It's not your fault!"
My take is the Mount Hood will go back to local interests, as that had already been expressed. SLRG is a loser. UP and RailAmerica didn't bail on that line because of the duckets it brought in. Either local governments will step in to preserve rail service for business development purposes, or it'll be Colorado's next premier pot smoking hiking/biking trail.
Maybe the potheads can stop off at Fir and throw some change in Guitar Man's tin can as he plays there.
