PBCAHSR was designed to precisely not do what you propose. It was gerrymandered to detour thru San Josie, Pacheco, many Valley towns and then way off to the East up to Mojave and then back thru Palmdale and eventually make it to LaLa. 2 90 degree turns, at Pacheco and at Burbank-Acton. The exact opposite of bleeding edge uber-speedy SF to LA. Instead you get a TEE or an InterCity, Amtrak. Bait and switch to dumbdown.

I figure Van Ark is chuckling at how he got lucky to be fired for importuning the Ranch and exit this POS and not have his rep soiled, unlike the rest of the toadies.
