I just purchased a Yaesu VX-7R HT and so far I'm very impressed with it. I will use it for monitoring (and transmitting) on marine bands as I am a kayaker (it's waterproof). I will also use it for speeder trips and for rail fanning. It's a very complicated radio but so far, like I said, very good.
