A few notes on Japan:

After the terrorist bombings and nerve gas attacks Tokyo removed the trash cans. People take their trash with them to work or home. They do this for the smallest things. If you drop into a Daiso store you can buy a pocket ash tray. Yes, they take their ashes and butts with them.
