1) The SOO 1003 has always been a coal burner, and doesn't set wayside fires in the area that it operates.
2) UP 4014 was converted to oil burning in order that it could travel throughout the entire UP system without setting wayside fires, just like 3985 was converted to oil burning back in 1989/1990.
3) Reading 2100 is NOT being converted to oil, in fact it is being returned to burning coal after the disastrous "oil burning" trials in Tacoma, Wash. quite some years ago.
