Reminds me of the time at Larkspur where the NWP 2472 sat rusting on the sleepers and a hijacked bus was driven down there and a cop was riding on top of it having jumped on it off a railroad trestle over Larkspur Boulevard. The cop chased down the hijacker and killed him. The hijacker was armed, it was a legitimate shooting. I saw the whole thing. From the freeway I think it was bad traffic day due to the hijacking. Scary days back in the 70's.

I believe the 2472 got some bullet ricochet marks which I found when I visited her at Sunol. I have pictures of the bullet marks. Did not pierce the boiler.
