Dear Drew: I am a great admirer of you incredible body of work over the years. Sorry you missed the NWP but you will soon have a chance to make up time with 2nd generation diesels.
I think you and I might be close to the same age. I am 62 and was born and raised in Marin County and thats why my NWP collection which started in 1956 has grown to over 12,000 prints. I was fortunate tp live in SF for 20 years from 1968 thru the summer of 1988 and shot many of the same things you shot at Mission Bay and 3rd and Townsend. Since there was plenty of lead time with the annoncement of NRPC. I shot the Daylight and the Del Monte a lot along with all sorts of power combinations. Got a lot of pics when they forward the Sunset equipment on the Daylight. I was lucky enough to shot the Kentucky House and Placerville branches in the early 80's. I have over 700 pictures along of all of the street running on the WP ATSF, SP and finaly UP in SF and the City/State Belt Railway. Lots of Donner and rotaries and steam from the 4449, Sierra, YW, McCloud and Cal Western and all of the PLA. RLHS, Nor. Cal. and Central Coast Fan Trips from 1960 thru to present. Only shots of Mina branch was during a short time they use F-7's. Anyway, see on the NWP!
