The PLA kicked around getting the SP 1000 before Holly Sugar donated it to the CSRM. We almost passed up getting Parr Terminal NW2 1402 on the off chance that we could get the 1000. A big discussion was had by the Collections Committee where the old saying "a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush" was applied. We had a guaranteed donation of the NW2, no clue on the SW1 so we accepted the donation of the 1402. Good thing since Holly Sugar decided to donate the 1000 to CSRM. Immediately after the 1402 arrived at Brightside crews went to work restoring it to it's original number, SP 1423. It has been restored and operating in Niles Canyon for the past 18 years (wow, I can't believe its been that long already). I don't mean to knock the CSRM but if we had got the 1000 it too would be restored and operating by now.
