scale steam at Skykomish

I saw this coal fired, Northern Pacific 10 wheeler at Skykomish this Autumn.

The coal smoke smells good and way better than other fuels in use like propane. But I wonder if the operators of these live steamers get tired of breathing those gases sometimes?
