Back in The Day... Milwaukee Road was awarded trackage rights on the NP Woodinville Sub ( or whatever NP called it back then ) between Black River Jct. and Snohomish,WA., as part of the BN Merger Agreements. Well, Lines West was always short on usable power, so they sent anything that would load up the line. This included their lightweight SDL-39's, but also their new U-36-C's!!! The ex - NP roadmaster had a mild conniption when he found out, as the line was restricted to 4 - axle power; however his counterpoint @ Lines West simply noted that NP's secondary trackage was in better shape than the Lines West mainline !!!
