Passing that tax measure in March is all-important to current SMART management; it stands as a vote of confidence.

Plus they are hoping against hope the Larkspur extension will draw good patronage and this generosity is part of the pre-opening hype. Impossible to predict until it happens. One factor IMHO is SF is not anymore such a great local tourism draw, especially for us older folks who remember a better time. Bums, junkies, and the disappearance of the restaurants, etc. we used to go to and the general decline of retail.
