This organization is a legacy of when MTA tried to kill the Gold Line in the late 90's. So a separate locally managed construction authority was created by State Legislation. The Gold Line Authority constructed Phase I LA-Sierra Madre Villas, and has had a very well managed program bringing in segment after segment, on-time and on budget.
