Remember this? SP FP7 #6460 at San Jose 1967

The "Bird That Couldn't Fly", was the name hung on the Train #76 the "Lark" by SP's PR people trying to abandon the overnight train to LA. Seen at San Jose in March of 1967 while the baggage and RPO cars are being worked with FP7 #6460 on the point. In a few months, SP would stop putting the train numbers on the locomotives. SP's fleet of FP7's would be "conveyed" to Amtrak, but #6460 would not be among them having been destroyed in an accident in the months before Amtrak.
