I read the article you posted, yesterday and it got me thinking about an "organized chaos" excursion on the Capitol Limited. It would be a "BYO-everything" sleeping car, sorta flash-mob. Everyone could set up little buffets and bars in their bedrooms and roomettes. Perhaps even arrange to meet catered food at one of the stops? It could be a heck of a fun party!

At this rate, imo, who can say how much longer any of this will be around, 'might want to make the best of it and have some fun, because fun is precisely what the "morale suppression team" at Amtrak want to take away, just like the infamous automat era management on the SP.
