Amtrak California Capitol 536 of 1/8-mechanical trouble ?

Amtrak California Capitol has just two trains that go east beyond Sacramento.
It overnights at Auburn, Ca. Trsin 529 departs each weekday morning at 06:35 bound for Rocklin,Roseville and Sacramento. From Sacramento west it joins the parade of capitols down to Oakland and San Jose,
Evening train 536 goes eastbound beyond Sacramento serving Roseville,Rocklin and Auburn terminating at Auburn @ 6:32 pm. Probably gets fuel from a fuel truck and beds down for the night.
Wednesday an alert came out @ 6:56 pm stating “536 is on the move again operating 2’50” late”.
The consist that arrived @ Auburn late was F59phi, F40 cabbage, 5 California cars and Siemens
Charger.


?? Where did it break down? And where did Amtrak borrow the F59phi that was tacked on in front of the cabbage car? There commuters east of Sacramento are lucky to be served.
But Wednesday they must be be wondering what happened to Thomas?
As am I.
