As much as the Trek-laced good humor is appreciated, I sincerely believe that open discourse is the best antidote to fighting. When society is in dire straits, strong words and arguments are needed, even if it intrudes and makes people uncomfortable.

Most subjects discussed here never devolve into political mud-slinging. The ones that do are usually transit related or have a political element that is integral to the subject and context.

And I disagree about it being thing beyond our control. It's our goddamn society after all.
