Yes there are slides, mostly Kodachrome 25, some marginal lighting shots were Ektachrome 400 with the blue cast photoshopped out. I clean most of them with a film cleaner using a NEW white cotton t-shirt. The new fabric is much softer and less prone to leave dust. I use one of those brushes which has the isotope in the handle and some time and air can to remove loose dust.

I scan with a Minolta Dimage Elite 5400 (no longer made)and the work them over in photoshop (elements 5)for color correction, lighting etc. I also use the dust filter and touch up brush, sometimes the clone tool. Last step is to sharpen being careful to not over sharpen.

I would guess that the average time per slide is 20 to 30 minutes. The first scan is done as a 2400dpi 20+MB TIFF file then a jpeg is made which is usually the one that gets posted.
