Return of the Mack: 2472 Homeward Bound to the NWP!

Friends of the NWP 2472,
The esteemed steam locomotive known to railfans around the California Region as NWP 27472, ne SP 2472, is soon to be just that much closer to the Larkspur rails where this whole saga started with a certain freeway commuter heading north back in the 70's who was traumatized by the real-life version of the Dirty Harry movie shot on the NWP trestle over Larkspur Creek but then learned to love a certain rust bucket engine which said commuter saw every day rusting away just south of the Larkspur Tunnel at the old Larkspur station, then doing service as a Victoria Station restaurant, and then conceived a grand dream of restoration which is soon to come true! And guess what--that commuter was me!
I'm driving up the freeway this instant, passing Larkspur, and googling the 2472 looking at the many Larkspur pictures of her rusting away back in the day (normally I don't do web research but ask others who have time on their hands to do it for me but today is too momentous). It reminds of the good old days when this commuter was known in certain quarters as "the Larkspur Unit" or the "Larkspur Mack" in other quarters. Well, I have another great idea. Because NWP 2472 was indeed a Larkspur Unit, and because it is returning, I think we should start calling it the Mack, short for Larkspur Mack, and celebrate it and me by playing the wonderful song by Mark Morrison known as the "Return of the Mack" a it steams into Schellville! I know I will be playing this song as I chase the 2472 on its journey and take pictures from the freeway with the ole iPad!
No freight engines present in San Rafael--no more service to the quarry?
