Short story for ya: a commuter on highway 101 sees the Mack in Larkspur day after day. He's traumatized by a hijacked school bus incident involving a brave but crazy cop jumping off a trestle onto the bus, very close to the Mack. He comes up with the idea of bringing the Mack back to life: restoring it and making it a running steam locomotive again, travelling the world and sharing the joy of his idea with everyone. A true comeback. Then the song above comes out. He starts calling the Mack the Mack at that point, finds some guys to execute the restoration plan, and sits back to enjoy the fruits of his idea thanks to the labors of others with lots of time on their hands and waits for the Return of the Mack, which is happening any day now!
